Integrating Microsoft Teams with Archie

Setting your Teams account

The Microsoft Teams integration allows you to connect your Microsoft Teams environment with Archie, making it easier for users within your organization to access the platform directly from Teams.

Before configuring this integration, Single Sign-On (SSO) must already be set up, as it is a prerequisite. Once enabled, users within your Microsoft domain will be able to access Archie through Microsoft Teams, providing a seamless experience and significantly simplifying processes such as visitor creation.


Integrating Teams with Archie

  • Login into your Archie portal

  • Navigate to "Settings/Integrations/App marketplace"

  • Locate the Teams app and click View integration

  • Click "Connect Teams account"

  • Proceed to add your Microsoft teams account information

  • You will be taken back to Archie

As an alternative, you can also connect Teams to Archie using App Registration. This method provides greater flexibility and control by allowing you to configure and manage the integration directly within your Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) environment.

Connect with app registration

Create the app in Azure

  • Connect to Azure and go to App Registration

  • Click on New registration to register an application

    • Name : Archie

    • Supported account types : • Accounts in any organizational directory (Any Azure AD directory - Multitenant)

    • Redirect URI: Leave it empty

  • Go to Api permissions and add the permission as follow by clicking on Microsoft Graph. Make sure the permissions are configured exactly as shown below.

    • Calendars.ReadWrite

      • Set as Application

      • This is to Have full access to user calendars

    • Calendars.ReadWrite.Shared

      • Set as Delegated

      • This is to Read and write user and shared calendars

    • Place.Read.All

      • Set as Application

      • This is to Read all company places

    • User.Read

      • Set as Delegated

      • This is to Sign in and read user profile

    • User.Read.All

      • Set to Application

      • This is to Read all users' full profiles

  • Grant admin consent to all these permissions

  • Go to Certificates & Secrets and create a new client secret

    • Description : Archie secret

    • Expires : Longest period to avoid disconnection with Archie

    • Copy the Value from the new entry in the table (this value will not be visible after), you will need it in Archie later

Connect the app to Archie

  • Go to "Settings / Integrations / App marketplace"

  • Locate the Teams app and click "View Integration"

  • Click "Connect your application"

  • Enter the information requested:

    • Directory (Tenant) ID : (You will find this information in the app overview in Azure)

    • Application (Client) ID : (You will find this information in the app overview in Azure)

    • Secret ID : Paste the value from the secret you generated when creating the app in Azure. If you lost the secret value, you can generate a new secret in the Azure application

  • Click Confirm
