Setting up your Kisi account

Written by Camilo

In this article, we will review the steps required to integrate your Kisi account with Archie. Before starting these steps, we strongly suggest that you have already created an account in Kisi.

Step 1. On your Kisi Account

  • Log into your Kisi account

  • Go to the top right part of the screen, click your account name, and click my account

  • Click the API section, and click Add API Key

  • Enter the your username and password and click Add

  • Copy this key in a safe place, as you can't see it anymore.

Archie tip: You can go ahead and create a group in the Kisi portal, then associate the doors you want visitors to have access to. Typically, this includes the building entrance and front door, but you can include any doors that make sense for your setup. Later, you'll be able to assign this Kisi group in the Visitors section.

Step 2. Integrating your Kisi account with Archie

  • Go to "Settings / Integrations / App marketplace"

  • Locate the Kisi app and click "View Integration"

  • Click "Connect Kisi account"

  • Enter your API key generated in the first step and select the place

  • Click Connect

  • You will be redirected back to the Kisi integration

  • You are now ready to start using this app

Step 3: Configure Door Access for Visitors

Once you've created your visitor access group in Kisi, the next step is to link it to your visitor settings in Archie.

  • Go to Settings / Visitors / General.

  • Scroll down to the Visits Door Access Configuration section and click Add Door Access Configuration.

Within the Access Configuration section, you'll find several options to customize how visitors receive and use their door access:

  • Create a link to the door access – Enable this option to include a door access link in the visitor confirmation email. Visitors can use this link to unlock the doors assigned to them during their visit.

  • Access availability – Choose how many minutes before the visit starts and after the visit begins the visitor's door access should remain active.

  • Also create door access on walk-in – Enable this option if you want visitors who are registered as walk-ins to automatically receive door access as well.

Assign the Kisi Group

  • Under the Door Access Configuration section, click Add Door Access Configuration.

  • Select the Kisi group you created earlier that contains the doors you want visitors to access.

  • Click Confirm to save your configuration.

Once this setup is complete, visitors assigned to this configuration will automatically receive access to the doors included in the selected Kisi group according to the schedule you've configured.

Step 4. Setting up your Door Access–Based Check-In

This option allows you to connect the Presence Logs section with check-in and check-out locks. This means that users can scan their badges and be automatically marked as checked in or checked out in Archie.

Configure the setting in Archie:

  • Locate the Kisi integration and click View Integration

  • Click the Configuration tab

  • Locate the “Door Access based check-in” section and enable the option
